CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Waterford Woodworks product. Much care was taken while crafting the piece of art that is now a piece of your home. We want to be very clear. The products that come out of our shop are beautiful, but they are BUILT TO BE USED! Below are some tips to keep your one-of-a-kind piece as beautiful as it is today for years to come!

NEED TO KNOWS

- NEVER sand a board that has epoxy - Follow the "Mineral Oil & Beeswax" instructions below, but omit the sanding steps

- NEVER put your board in the dishwasher

- NEVER totally submerge or "soak" a board in water

- Use lukewarm water and a mild soap to clean

- Always immediately towel dry after washing, allow to sit in "open-air" after towel drying

- Never cross-contaminate, make sure to wash before switching from meats to greens

- Use one side as the "cutting board" and the other side as the "serving" board

For products finished with Mineral Oil & Beeswax you may notice after your first few uses a "fuzzy" feeling where the surface was once perfectly smooth. Don't worry, this is perfectly normal and quite common! What has happened is water on the surface of your board has caused microscopic wood fibers that had been sanded smooth and flat to swell and stand up. This fuzzy feeling will go away with use and does not impact the performance, durability, or longevity of your board! If this fuzzy feeling is bothering you and you want to take care of it more immediately then "with use" follow the refinishing instructions below for "Mineral Oil & Beeswax"!

REFINISHING

Your piece comes with a "Birth Certificate." The birth certificate includes what product was used to finish your piece in our shop. This is important as it is the same product that should be used to refinish your piece.

For a small fee, we offer re-finishing services. Just reach out to us directly and we'll work through the process with you. If you want to re-finish your piece yourself, please see the notes below:
